Thirty years old, and still the answer to the question.

If there is a single watch that defines what Rolex is to the world, it's probably the Submariner. The 16610 ran from 1988 to 2010 and became the reference against which everything else gets measured — a 40mm steel case, the iconic Mercedes hands, a unidirectional bezel, and Calibre 3135 underneath. Reliable, legible, and universally respected. Some watches date. This one doesn't.

This example was born in 1995, making it a proper neo vintage piece with over thirty years of Rolex history behind it. We acquired it through Juwelier Burger in Maastricht in 2021. It comes with its original box, booklet, and hang tag. Papers are not present.

Condition is good. It has been worn — as a Submariner should be — but it presents well overall. There is a small scratch on the dial around the 10 o'clock position, which is worth mentioning for full transparency. Otherwise, there is no damage that distracts from the watch. It still retains its green Rolex caseback sticker.

Why we selected it
The 16610 is the Submariner in its purest modern form — before the ceramic bezel, before the size increase, before everything got a little more polished. For a collector, it fills a gap nothing else can. For everyone else, it's simply the right watch.
