The 116520 marks a turning point in Rolex history — the first Daytona powered by an in-house movement. Calibre 4130 was five years in the making: engineered from scratch, refined until there was nothing left to improve. The result is one of the most reliable and desirable chronograph movements ever made.
This particular example was first sold in September 2008 in Denmark, and comes complete with its original European warranty card (LC228), original box, original invoice, and a full Rolex service carried out in August 2023. It presents in almost mint — a genuinely hard thing to say about a watch that's been worn and loved for over fifteen years.
The black superluminova dial is all original, the lume plots glow green in the dark exactly as they should, and the steel case and bracelet show no signs of polishing. This is the real thing.
